Idaho Steelheads News Release

Boise, ID (7/1/16) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced on Friday afternoon that the Idaho Steelheads have agreed to terms with goaltender Branden Komm on an ECHL contract. Komm will be joining the Steelheads for his second season in Idaho.

Komm, 25, joined the Steelheads last season on January 20th in a trade that brought the second-year goaltender to Boise from the South Carolina Stingrays. In nine regular-season appearances with the Steelheads, Komm was 4-4-1 with a .911 save percentage 2.87 goal-against average. Komm also appeared in one playoff game, stopping all 13 shots he faced after relieving Philippe Desrosiers over the final 28 minutes of Game 6 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals against Allen.

"Branden's dedication to his craft and his work ethic are exceptional," said Graham. "He is a player who leads by example every day and he was a big part of our team's success last year. He is an important part of our locker room and we are extremely excited to see him back in a Steelheads uniform."

In two pro seasons with Evansville, Cincinnati, South Carolina, and Idaho, Komm has appeared in 38 games and has a 14-15-2 record with one shutout, a 2.84 goals-against average, and a .909 save percentage.
