Steel to Open Season Sept.24 Against Green Bay

GENEVA, ILLINOIS - The United States Hockey League announced Tuesday that the Chicago Steel will open the 2016-2017 USHL regular season at home on Saturday, Sept. 24 against the rival Green Bay Gamblers. Puck drop at Fox Valley Ice Arena is set for 7:05 p.m. CDT. The first 500 kids (14 and under) in attendance will receive a complimentary Steel replica youth jersey.

"We're very excited to open the regular season at home and to feature a terrific giveaway on Opening Night," said Steel President Dan Lehv. "We're already counting down the days."

The team's full regular season schedule will be announced tomorrow - Wednesday, July 27. The 2016-2017 season will mark Chicago's 17th in the USHL and second in Geneva, Ill. The Steel closed the 2015-2016 regular season winning its last five games, and three members of the 2015-2016 team were selected in the 2016 NHL Draft.

Group and suite tickets will go on sale shortly, and the Steel will soon announce its public on-sale date for 2016-2017 single game tickets. Steel Season Ticket Plans are now on sale for the 2016-2017 season and start at just five games and allow fans to choose the games they wish to attend.
