Stealth Back Home for Family Day
Vancouver, BC- The Vancouver Stealth (2-4) will play host to the Colorado Mammoth (3-3) on Sunday, February 12, 2017.
In the first month of the National Lacrosse League season the Stealth travelled a league-high 16,468 kilometers, including two separate back-to-backs. Vancouver faired well taking the first two games but dropped the most recent back-to-backs.
It could be a milestone night for the Stealth as multiple players are coming up on achievements. Matt Beers is three assists away from 50 on his career and needs four Caused Turnovers for 100. Cliff Smith is headed into his 97th career game and is one assist away from 100. Meanwhile Garrett Billings will play game number 100 in the NLL and needs two helpers for 400 assists.
The Mammoth opened the season trading wins and loses through the first five games but are coming off a massive 14-10 victory over the then undefeated Georgia Swarm last Saturday. Colorado's offense is led by Callum Crawford who has 11 goals, 27 assists and 38 points in six games.
His output is only bettered by Vancouver's Rhys Duch who has scored 16 goals, 23 assists and 39 points. At the same time, lefthander Corey Small sits atop the league in scoring with 16 goals, 28 assists and 44 points in six games.
"We had some early success this year against Colorado on the road and we are looking forward to the opportunity to repeat in front of our fans at home," said Corey Small. "Colorado is a team with great goaltending and tons of firepower up front. But we are a team that is hungry to get back to winning. This matchup has all the makings to be an exciting, energetic game!"
Sunday's game is Family Day at the Langley Events Centre. The Family Day event will take place from 11:00am-3:00pm inside the Fieldhouse. There will be face painting, balloon animals, music, obstacle courses and many door prizes. The game will take place at 7:00pm with doors opening at 5:30pm.
