PEARL, MS- The Huntsville Stars ended a three-game losing streak with a 5-4 win over the Mississippi Braves. For Huntsville, the story was starting pitcher Tyler Thornburg. Not only did the Brewers 4th overall prospect improve to 2-0 on the season, but he also helped out his own cause by hitting a 3-run home run in the fourth inning. Stars RHP Robert Wooten notched his fourth save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning.
The Stars will play game three of a five-game series on Friday as they will send RHP Evan Anundsen to the mound to square off against Braves LHP Sean Gilmartin (0-2, 3.12 ERA). First pitch is at 7:00 PM.
