Stars Return Austin Smith to Idaho Steelheads

CEDAR PARK, TX - The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has reassigned right wing Austin Smith to the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL.

Smith, 24, returns for his second stint this season with Idaho after spending the last ten days with Texas. The Dallas, Texas native has five points (3 goals, 2 assists) and a +3 rating in six games this season with the Steelheads. Smith has appeared in one AHL game for the Stars this season, making his 2012-13 Texas debut on October 19th at Houston. He has played in 13 career AHL games, all with the Stars, and has three assists.

Texas continues its four-game home stand on Wednesday, November 21st as they host the Oklahoma City Barons at 7:30 p.m. for another Winning Wednesday and H-E-B Night at Cedar Park Center.
