Stars Even Series with 5-0 Win

Lincoln, Neb. - The Stars exploded offensively with a 5-0 win against the Waterloo Black Hawks to even the series, 1-1, in the Ice Box on Saturday night.
The Stars opened the scoring midway through the first when Jack Badini pinged a shot off the post and Joachim Weberg buried the rebound to make it 1-0. Badini and Tye Ausmus had the assists.
Early in the second, the Stars made it 2-0 on a shorthanded rush. Biagio Lerario broke up a play in the Stars defensive end, then carried the puck up the left boards before slipping a pass to Collin Peters who made it 2-0 with his second goal of the playoffs.
Special teams continued to deliver for the Stars later in the period when Trevor Hamilton put a wrist shot under the arm of Black Hawks goalie Cale Morris to make it 3-0. Ryan Jones and Ludvig Hoff earned the assists.
The Stars carried their three-goal lead into the second intermission.
Hamilton potted his second of the night in the third, then Grant Jozefek added an empty netter to make it a 5-0 final.
Peters, Hamilton and Jozefek had multi-point nights.
Jones finished with 23 saves.
