Star Wars Night, ZOOperstars Appearance Highlight Upcoming Homestand

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Barons are set to welcome the Tennessee Smokies, Double-A Affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, to Regions Field beginning on Thursday evening and running through Monday night. A jam packed five game series is on tap, including fan favorites such as Thirsty Thursday, Friday Night Fireworks, Star Wars Night, ZOOperstars! and Bark in the Park. In addition, the all-new SwitchYard On 14th will be open before, during and after games all homestand for fans to enjoy a game of ping pong or bocce ball as well as a drink from the Barstream or some of the new menu items featured in the Foodstream. The full schedule for the homestand is below.

Thursday, May 18, 7:05 p.m. - The first game of the series will be a Thirsty Thursday, with two dollar Miller/Coors beer, wine and Coca-Cola products fountain drink specials all over Regions Field presented by Miller Lite, Woodbridge and Buffalo Wild Wings. The executive entry opens at 5:30 p.m., with all gates opening at 6 p.m. The SwitchYard On 14th will be open beginning at 4 p.m. and remain open following the game until midnight.

Friday, May 19, 7:05 p.m. - Come out and enjoy a promotion packed Friday Night at Regions Field, including the first of two Star Wars Nights, where fans can meet a collection of characters from the 501st Legion. The first 1,000 adults 13 and over will also receive a Star Wars inspired beach towel presented by the Sheraton-Birmingham. Finally, cap off the night with a Star Wars themed Friday Night Fireworks presented by Coca-Cola, Hibbett Sports and Alabama Power. The Barons will also host First Responders Night, honoring all first responders presented by jobsquest.org. The executive entrance opens at 5:30 p.m., with all gates opening at 6. Fans can stop by The SwitchYard On 14th which will open at 4 p.m. prior to the game and stay open until midnight.

Saturday, May 20, 6:30 p.m. - World famous ZOOperstars! will be in attendance to highlight Saturday night's matchup between the Barons and Smokies. ZOOperstars!, the second act of the 2017 Saturday Entertainer Series presented by Red Diamond, CBS 42, and Levy's Fine Jewelry will entertain fans during the game. The first 1,000 kids 12 and under will receive a free Barons t-shirt courtesy of Edwards Chevrolet. Saturday will also feature Girl Scout Campout Night where Girl Scouts can purchase tickets to campout on the field after the game. The executive entrance opens at 5:00 p.m., with all gates opening at 5:30. The SwitchYard On 14th will open at 11 a.m. and remain open leading up to and following the game until midnight.

Sunday, May 21, 3:00 p.m. - Join us for another Armed Forces Sunday presented by NAPA and the Marion Military Institute Tigers as we honor our servicemen and women. All active or veteran members of the armed services receive $2 off a regular priced ticket with a military ID. Sunday will also mark our first Bark in the Park game of 2017 presented by Hand in Paw. Fans are encouraged to bring their dogs out to enjoy the game and dog tickets can be purchased day of game at the FIAT of Birmingham Parkside entrance for a 10 dollar donation to Hand in Paw. The executive entrance opens at 1:30 p.m., with all gates opening at 2. The SwitchYard On 14th will once again be open beginning with gates opening at 2 p.m. and will stay open following the game until 9 p.m.

Monday, May 22, 7:05 p.m. - The final game of the five game series against the Tennessee Smokies will be a 7:05 p.m. first pitch with the executive entrance opening at 5:30 p.m. and all gates opening at 6. Enjoy lunch at The SwitchYard On 14th which will be open beginning at 11 a.m. staying open all day closing at 10 p.m. following the game.
