Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

OMAHA, NE - He didn't fulfill his dream of playing baseball for the Kansas City Royals, but country music star Keith Anderson will have the chance to sing in front of Omaha Royals fans this July at Rosenblatt Stadium. The Omaha Royals announced today that their game on Friday, July 18th, at 7:05 p.m. vs. the Round Rock Express will be followed by fireworks and then Anderson's live concert, presented by Werner Enterprises and KAT 103.

Anderson was a star baseball player at Oklahoma State University in the late 1980's and was scouted by the Kansas City Royals. A shoulder injury ended his professional baseball dreams, so he moved to Dallas and began writing country songs. He continued on that path after moving to Nashville in 1998. From 2001-2004, he penned hits for Garth Brooks and George Jones ("Beer Run") and Gretchen Wilson ("The Bed").

In 2005, Anderson's own debut album, Three Chord Country and American Rock & Roll, produced four hit singles, including "Pickin' Wildflowers," which soared to #8 in Billboard and Radio & Records. Both publications ranked Anderson as country music's #1 new male artist of 2005.

His second album, C'MON! is due to be released on May 20th. A single from the album, "I Still Miss You," is rising fast on the country charts. Anderson, who co-wrote ten of his new CD's eleven tracks, also wrote "Lost In This Moment" in 2007, which the duo Big Rich made into a #1 hit.

"For the third straight year Werner Enterprises is proud to sponsor a concert the entire family can enjoy," said Fred Thayer, Werner's Director of Corporate Communications. "Bring your families out to a great night of baseball, Werner fireworks and some outstanding country music by Keith Anderson. We promise that once again, it will be ‘Fun For Everyone'"

Anderson's model looks and commitment to bodybuilding have earned him a sizeable female fan base. He was chosen by People magazine for its 2005 "50 Hottest Bachelors" issue. Country Weekly's readers have twice voted him among country music's hottest bachelors.

"We are proud of our partnership with Werner Enterprises and for their continuous support of our community," said Royals General Manager Martie Cordaro. "This is sure to be a great event!"

On July 18th, the Rosenblatt Stadium gates will open at 6:00 p.m. and the first 1,000 fans will receive a free CD case, courtesy of the Nebraska Independent College Foundation. As of today's announcement, the first 103 fans to call the Royals ticket office at (402) 738-5100 and order tickets for the event will get $1 off every ticket purchased.

For more information, contact Kevin McNabb, Royals Director of Media Relations, at (402) 738-5103.
