Stampede Outlast D-Fenders; Win Fourth Straight

BOISE, Idaho, March 13, 2009 - Lance Allred scored 24 of his 29 points in the second half to pace the Idaho Stampede to a 111-100 victory over the Los Angeles D-Fenders on Friday night in Boise.

The Stampede managed to maintain comfortable leads throughout the entire game, until with 5:31 remaining in the fourth quarter, Los Angeles went on a 14-5 run to close the Stampede lead to one point with just 2:30 left. Lance Allred knocked down three consecutive mid-range jumpers, contributing to a 13-3 Stampede run which sealed the Stampede triumph.

"It felt good to knock down big shots for my team," said Lance Allred. "We have four games in six nights and are trying to get momentum going into the playoffs.

Los Angeles forward Dwayne Mitchell dropped in 34 points to lead all scorers in the game. Brandon Heath added 20 points, while Gabriel Hughes recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Charlie Parker came off the bench to score 10 points, in the loss.

Idaho utilized a well-balanced effort, finishing with six players in double-digit scoring. Nathan Jawai, on NBA assignment from the Toronto Raptors, scored 15 points to go with nine rebounds. Kevin Burleson and Jason Ellis each finished with double-doubles. Burleson scored 14 points and dished out 10 assists, while Ellis recorded 11 points and pulled down 15 rebounds.

The Stampede will continue their home-stretch with a game against Rio Grande Valley Saturday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm MST. Los Angeles will remain on the road against the Colorado 14ers on Sunday night.
