Stampede Acquire Two Forwards from Cedar Rapids

Sioux Falls, SD-The Sioux Falls Stampede have acquired forwards Nick Bowman (BO-MAN) and Will Garin from the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in exchange for Austin Martensin and affiliate player, Steve Agriogianis, the club announced Tuesday.

Bowman skated in six games with the RoughRiders, posting one goal. The Shelby, Michigan native spent last year skating with Brother Rice High School in Chicago where he recorded an impressive 50 points (25g, 25a) in 27 games. He also appeared in three games with the Wichita Falls Wildcats of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), tallying a goal before being drafted by Cedar Rapids in the Phase II Draft this past May. He has already committed to play collegiate hockey at Miami University.

Garin also appeared in six games with the RoughRiders this season. Garin skated last year with Holy Family Catholic High School in Minnesota where he registered 47 points (24g, 23a) in 23 games. He also skated in 11 games with the RoughRiders last season, posting four points (3g, 1a). The Mound, Minnesota native has already committed to the University of Connecticut.

Martensin is in his first year with the Stampede and appeared in six games, registering a goal and an assist.

Bowman and Garin will join the Stampede for practice this week and travel with the team this weekend as they face the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Friday and Saturday night at L.C. Walker Arena. Game times are 6:15 PM both nights and fans can catch all the action on KELO News Talk 1320-AM, 107.9-FM and online at KELO.com. Both games are also available to watch on HockeyTV.com.
