Spitfires Defeat Colts 5-4 At Barrie Molson Centre, Take 2-0 Lead

Spitfires' Game Notes - Rogers OHL Championship Series, Game Two

- With yesterday's 5-4 win over the Colts in Barrie, Windsor has won six consecutive playoff games and has taken a 2-0 lead in the Rogers OHL Championship Series.

- Barrie outshot Windsor 37-22, this was the first time that Windsor was outshot in 17 playoff games.

- Defenceman Mark Cundari scored for the second consecutive game and also registered two assists with a +2 plus-minus rating. He opened the game with a shorthanded goal at the 7:41 mark of the first period and was selected as the game's First Star, the second game in a row during which he was named a star of the game. Cundari leads the OHL with a +17 plus-minus rating and is tied for second in the league amongst all defencemen with 17 points in 17 playoff games.

- Forward Scott Timmins scored one goal and added an assist while posting a +4 plus-minus rating. He was selected as the game's Second Star and is currently tied for second in the OHL with teammate Taylor Hall, posting a +14 plus-minus rating. He is also ranked third on the Spitfires and seventh overall in the OHL with nine goals scored while being fourth overall in team scoring with 19 points in 17 playoff games.

- Forward Taylor Hall did not record a point in the game and this snapped his league leading playoff point streak which will stand at 16 consecutive playoff games. He leads the Spitfires in points while being ranked second in the OHL with 29 points in 17 playoff games, and is also tied for second in the league with a +14 plus-minus rating. Hall is also ranked third in the OHL and second on the Spitfires with 15 goals in the post-season and is tied for fifth in the league with teammate Mark Cundari at 14 assists.

- Forward Adam Henrique was held scoreless last night, stopping his league leading seven game goal streak. Henrique still leads the Spitfires and is second in the OHL in goals scored with 16. He is also ranked third on the team and tied for seventh in the league with 21 points in 17 playoff games.

- Goaltender Philipp Grubauer won his sixth consecutive game of the series, stopping 33 of 37 shots faced. He is also ranked first in the OHL with two shutouts and is ranked first in the league with 14 wins in 16 playoff games.

- Forward Zack Kassian snapped a four game pointless drought, scoring one goal in the contest. Kassian has seven goals and 16 points in 17 playoff games.

- Defenceman Marc Cantin scored one goal last night and is tied for sixth with a +11 plus-minus rating in 17 playoff games. Cantin has three goals and six points during the playoffs.

- Windsor was held scoreless on three power play opportunities and Barrie scored one power play goal on five chances. This was the first goal allowed by Spitfires on the power play in five playoff games.
