Spirit Welcome Chuck Jacobson to New Position Director of Player Well-Being

Saginaw, Michigan - Saginaw Spirit General Manager Dave Drinkill announced Monday that the team has hired Chuck Jacobson in the newly created Director of Player Well-Being position within the organization.
"We are excited to add Chuck to this newly created position," said Drinkill. "In addition to Chuck being a sounding board for the players away from the rink, the players will meet with Chuck once per month for a life management course to help them become better young men in their daily lives. This should have a hugely positive impact on our players."
Jacobson will be addressing the team once per month in a 'life management' course, and will be available by request from members of the team. His goal is to assist players with day-to-day challenges that exist away from the rink.
"I would like to thank the Spirit ownership group, coaching staff, and Dave Drinkill for this opportunity to work with the Spirit players," said Jacobson.
"My goal is to help these young men with anything that may come their way away from the rink and to be a sounding board for them in dealing with obstacles in their day-to-day lives. We believe in implementing a proactive approach to navigating our way through life. Therefore, we will be developing and providing players with opportunities to learn more about wellness. We are committed to the development of their character and strong virtues as young men. My desire is to come alongside them to help however I possibly can."
