Kitchener, Ontario - The Saginaw Spirit (2-2-1-0 5pts.) travel to Ontario to take the CHL's No. 10 ranked Kitchener Rangers (3-0-0-0 6 pts.). The puck drops at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.

The Spirit are looking to build off their 6-2 road victory Wednesday evening against in-state rival Flint Firebirds. Stand out Nicholas Porco was named Wednesday's OHL Third Star of the night for his two goal effort in the game. Porco was stellar in both special team situations, scoring a powerplay goal in the first period and then a short handed goal in the second. The second period short hander proved to be the eventual game winning goal.

Spirit team captain and Minnesota Wild prospect Damien Giroux scored his first goal of the season against the Firebirds, just 22 seconds after first Porco goal.

New York Islanders' prospect Bode Wilde contributed his first career OHL goal in the second period of Wednesday's game. The 2018 second round pick has been a strong addition to the team this season, contributing one goal and six points in four games. Saginaw's first round pick Cole Perfetti provided the dagger to put the game out of firmly out of reach when he scored Saginaw's sixth goal with less than a minute left in the game.

Arizona Coyotes' prospect Ivan Prosvetov notched his first OHL win in the contest. Prosvetov stopped 25 of 27 shots faced against Flint, giving him a strong save percentage of .926 for the game.

Kitchener has had the edge over Saginaw recently winning all four games against the Spirit last season. The Spirit offense will need to be on top of their game Friday night when they face Kitchener's goaltender Luke Richardson. Richardson comes into the game leading the entire OHL with a 1.33 goals against average and a .956 save percentage. Richardson has also won all three times he has faced the Saginaw Spirit in his career, posting an average save percentage of .914 in those contests.

The Spirit is 1-1-0-0 on the road thus far this season. The game will be the second of a three-game road trip that concludes against the Erie Otters at 7:05 pm on Saturday.

Friday's game in Kitchener begins at 7:30 pm. Fans can listen to all the game's action on FM Talk and Sports 100.5 and fmtalk1005.com.
