LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Sparks have re-signed Serbian guard Ana Dabovic, executive vice president and general manager Penny Toler announced today. Per team policy, contract details were not disclosed.

"We are excited to have Ana back after her great rookie season last year," said Toler. "She is an emerging, talented player in this league and we look forward to watching her grow."

Dabovic returns to Los Angeles after a breakout rookie season in the WNBA last year. Appearing in 25 games (eight starts) with the Sparks, she ranked second in the rookie class in scoring (8.8 ppg) to go with 1.9 assists and 1.6 rebounds per game. She was third among first-year players in three-point field goal percentage (33.3), fourth in free throw percentage (80.8) and fifth in field goal percentage (44.6).

"We look forward to having Ana ?back in Los Angeles," said head coach Brian Agler. "From the beginning she proved to be a very valuable player and was extremely instrumental in helping us with our late surge into the WNBA playoffs. She has the ability to create for her teammates as well as for herself and will contribute to our success."

Named to the 2015 All-WNBA Rookie Team, the 6-foot Serbian guard scored in double figures in eight of the Sparks final nine games of the regular season to help Los Angeles advance to its 15th postseason appearance.

The 26-year old international veteran helped lead her Serbian national team to a gold medal in the EuroBasket Women 2015, qualifying Serbia for the 2016 Olympics for the first time in history. She averaged 14.8 points, 1.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists during the championships and was named Most Valuable Player of EuroBasket Women 2015 and to the EuroBasket Women 2015 All-Star Five.

Dabovic most recently played for Yakin Dogu of the Turkish Women's Basketball League. In 13 games this season she averaged 10.5 points, 2.7 assists and 2.6 rebounds. Prior to Yakin, she played with eight other international teams, including Dynamo Moscow (2013) with Sparks teammate Kristi Toliver. While with Dynamo, she averaged 14.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 11 EuroLeague contests and helped capture the 2014 EuroCup.

In addition to earning her country its first-ever Olympic qualification, Dabovic also led her home country of Serbia to silver medals at the 2009 Mediterranean Games and 2006 European U18 Championship and a bronze medal at the 2008 European U20 Championship.
