Sox and Pelicans Postponed on Wednesday

Salem, VA (July 10, 2013) - With steady rain falling and more on the way, Wednesday night's scheduled ballgame between Salem and Myrtle Beach has been postponed. The two clubs will square off in a doubleheader on Thursday night, beginning at 5:30. Gates open at 5 PM at LewisGale Field.
The Salem Sox are coming off back-to-back comeback victories against the Pelicans, having won 7-6 in 10 innings on Monday and 8-6 on Tuesday. Henry Owens, who was slated to start Wednesday's game, is now the probable for game one on Thursday, with fellow southpaw Mickey Pena the expected starter for game two.
Salem is currently enjoying an eight-game homestand, with Potomac scheduled to visit the Roanoke Valley for a four-game series starting on Friday night.
