March 20, 2017 - Midwest League (MWL) - South Bend Cubs

News Release

SOUTH BEND, IN - Before the team begins the 2017 Midwest League regular season, the South Bend Cubs will face the University of Notre Dame baseball team in a 7-inning exhibition game at Four Winds Field on Wednesday, April 5. Tickets are only $5 with all proceeds from ticket sales going to charity.

"Not only does this exhibition game give us the opportunity to once again team up with the University of Notre Dame baseball team, but it allows us to give back to our community," said South Bend Cubs President Joe Hart. "This game also acts as a dress rehearsal for some of our new gameday staff to ensure everything runs smoothly on Opening Day.

"We're excited to play the South Bend Cubs," said Notre Dame Baseball Head Coach Mik Aoki. "When the South Bend team became a Cubs' affiliate a few years ago, I feel like it amplified the buzz Andrew Berlin and Joe Hart had already been creating. I'm sure the Cubs World Series Championship will create even more. I hope that sense of excitement will translate into a great crowd for our game."
