Sound Tigers Games Free of Charge this Weekend

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Nov. 1, 2012) - With the State of Connecticut reeling from the impact of Hurricane Sandy, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers have announced that this weekend's games on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Hershey and Sunday, Nov. 4 at 3:00 p.m. vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton will be free of charge courtesy of Webster Bank.
"We've seen the damage - we feel it," said Bridgeport Sound Tigers President Howard Saffan. "We want to give back to the community. With the help of Hearst Media Services and Cox Communications, we intend on getting the word out. We encourage you to bring your friends and family to Webster Bank Arena this weekend and enjoy yourselves during this difficult time."
Courtesy of Webster Bank, fans can pick up tickets at the Webster Bank Arena Click It Or Ticket Box Office. Box office hours will run from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Friday, and from 10:00 a.m. through game time on Saturday and Sunday.
"The Sound Tigers are a great community partner and provide a fun, family-oriented activity," said Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch. "I am thankful for their free ticket offer this weekend...it's a great way to take your mind off the present circumstances and cheer on the Sound Tigers. I encourage every Bridgeport resident to take advantage of this weekend's free ticket offer."
Sound Tigers players will be joining our partners STAR 99.9 and 99.1 PLR at the Westfield Connecticut Post Mall in Milford and the Westfield Trumbull Mall to distribute free tickets to fans and sign autographs starting at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
"Since the founding of Webster Bank during the Great Depression, we have supported efforts that help communities in times of need," said Michelle Crecca, EVP and Chief Marketing Officer at Webster. "Being there to help lift people's spirits is important in these difficult times and we are pleased to provide a way to give families something to cheer about."
"The Sound Tigers organization is an important part of the community in southern Connecticut," said American Hockey League President and Chief Executive Officer David Andrews. "Our thoughts are with everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy, and we hope that families throughout the region will take this opportunity to visit Webster Bank Arena, watch top-notch hockey and enjoy themselves for a night during this difficult time."
Any fans who have already purchased tickets to this weekend's games can exchange them at the Webster Bank Arena Click It Or Ticket Box Office for any games through the 2012 calendar year, except for games against the Connecticut Whale.
The Sound Tigers also encourage fans to bring non-perishable food items to this weekend's games to aid people severely impacted by Hurricane Sandy.
