Philadelphia Soul News Release

PHILADELPHIA – In just year two of the organization’s young existence, the Philadelphia Soul have already been established as one of the area’s top sources for football and entertainment. Now, starting this summer, the team will expand its presence in the Philadelphia community by offering Philadelphia Soul Football Camps.

Soul players and coaches will conduct the camps, which are open to kids ages 8 to 14 and will be held in several locations throughout the Delaware Valley. These full-contact camps will be fun, safe, challenging and hands-on. The Camper-to-Counselor ratio will be 10:1 to ensure the proper attention is given to each Camper. Campers will learn the fundamentals of football, featuring instructions and drills in the following areas:

Speed, agility, coordination, offensive/defensive techniques, passing, blocking, tackling, run, pass and option plays, defensive formations, pass catching, pass coverage and special teams play. Emphasis will be placed on teamwork.

Current camp locations include Upper Merion Area High School (King of Prussia, PA), Tri-State Sports Complex (Aston, PA) and Arcadia University (Glenside, PA). Additional locations will be announced soon. Soul President Ron Jaworski will make a visit to each weeklong camp.

The Upper Merion High School camp is scheduled for June 27 to July 1. The Tri-State Sports Complex camp will run from July 25 to July 29. The Arcadia University camp is slated for August 8 to August 12. Each camp will run from 8:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Tuition is $375 per Camper and includes daily lunch, a Soul T-shirt and two tickets to a 2006 Soul game. A rental fee of $60 will be charged to campers who need to rent equipment for the week. The camps will be managed by Julian Krinsky Camps and Programs.
