May 4, 2016 - Eastern League (EL1)
Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Harrisburg Senators had their three-game winning streak snapped Wednesday afternoon with a 9-3 loss to the Hartford Yard Goats. The Senators can still win the series, though, with a win Thursday night in the final game of their four-game series with Hartford and nine-game homestand.

Lucas Giolito started for the Senators and allowed six runs, five coming on two-out hits. Giolito pitched for the second time in a week against Hartford in inclement weather. He was followed on the mound by Gilberto Mendez and Derek Self. Mendez and Self both went three innings.

Trailing 6-0 in the fourth inning, Neftali Soto hit a two-run home run to trim the deficit to 6-2. It was Soto's first home run this year. Harrisburg trimmed the deficit to 6-3 in the fifth inning on a triple by Zach Collier that was followed by a sacrifice fly off the bat of Jake Lowery.

Hartford then put the game out of reach with three runs in the sixth off of Mendez.

Harrisburg (10-14) managed just three hits against the Yard Goats (19-6) as Harrison Musgrave shut down the Senators for a second straight start. He has now pitched 14 innings against the Sens this year and allowed just three hits and two runs.

The final game of the series is Thursday night at 6:30pm with RH Austen Williams on the hill for the Senators against LH Kyle Freeland for Hartford.
