Somerset Patriots To Host Rutgers Night On August 10th

Bridgewater, NJ - The Three-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots will host Rutgers Night at Commerce Bank Ballpark on Friday, August 10th for the 7:05 pm game against the Road Warriors.

Fans will have the opportunity to meet legendary Rutgers baseball coach Fred Hill at the game. Hill is entering his 34th season at Rutgers and 31st as a collegiate head coach, having joined Rutgers in 1984. He enters 2007 as the 16th active winningest coach in the nation and sits just seven wins shy of the prestigious 900-win mark. He led the Scarlet Knights back to the postseason in 2006, guiding the club all the way to the semifinals of the BIG EAST Championship.

The Patriots will welcome Rutgers cheerleaders and the Scarlet Knight, the Rutgers mascot, who will be on-hand to greet fans and participate in on-field promotions.

Rutgers Night will also feature a raffle for fans to enter to win Rutgers merchandise and autographed prizes including football memorabilia and items signed by Kansas City Royals outfielder David DeJesus, former Rutgers pitching standout Bobby Brownlie, and many more notable alumni.

Fans who wear Rutgers apparel or present a Rutgers student ID or alumni card will receive $2.00 off their tickets to the game.

The first 2,000 fans in attendance will also receive 10th Season Anniversary Somerset Patriots Mugs, courtesy of GSP International.
