Sockers Face Stars of 1st Place, Chiles Goes for History

Thousands of eyes will be watching as the Sockers travel to Tacoma to face the Stars on Sunday, the first rematch of the season. The Tacoma Stars will be looking for a taste of revenge after the Sockers won 5-3 in San Diego just two weeks ago. Sockers Star Forward Kraig Chiles exploded for 4 goals as he lead the home team to victory.
This Sunday, Chiles looks to make history in a Sockers uniform. His 298 career goals tie him with Sockers Legend Branko Segota for most All-Time Goals. Odds are that Chiles will break the Sockers' goal scoring record should he keep his 2+ goals a game average.

The two teams meet again in a showdown for first place in the Pacific Division. Sockers (6-2) currently lead the pack after last week's historic 9-3 rout of Turlock Express where Chiles tied Segota for All-Time Goals. Tacoma Stars (5-3) are hot on the Sockers heals after a 9-8 comeback victory over Ontario Fury.
Tacoma Stars are hoping for a reversal of fortune against the 14 time Indoor Arena Champions. Remarkably, every Pacific Division team in the MASL in undefeated at home this season. Therefore, with early season history on their side, this Sunday might be their best chance to earn a coveted win against the Sockers.
San Diego Sockers boast a Top 5 defense, elite caliber goalkeeper Chris Toth and one of the most potent attacks in the league, led by Sockers Captain Kraig Chiles. Matt Clare has been an important provider with 11 assists on the season, while Max Touloute has been dangerous with 8 goals and 3 assists on the season.
Goalkeeper Chris Toth leads the MASL in Save Percentage (.807) and remains second in Goals Against Average (3.88). The veteran leadership of Sockers Captain Ze Roberto, Victor Quiroz and new signing Felipe Gonzalez aid Toth's stellar play between the posts. Their play, combined with the potent Sockers attack has earned the Sockers the second best goal differential in the MASL (+27).
