Smokies Wrap up Homestand with Series against Lookouts

SEVIERVILLE - The Tennessee Smokies open up a five-game homestand tomorrow night, Saturday, July 9, against the Chattanooga Lookouts, the Double-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. Among the highlights for the fantastic five contests are Fireworks on Saturday, as well as a Kyle Schwarber bobblehead giveaway on Sunday and Super Splash Day on Wednesday.

The series kicks off on Saturday, July 9 with British Invasion Night. In honor of legendary bands like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and many others, the Smokies will have special music, on-field games and videoboard graphics as a part of the celebration. The first 250 fans through the gates on Saturday will receive a Beachball Giveaway courtesy of Alzheimer's Tennessee. Following the final out, there will be a stellar Postgame Fireworks display presented in partnership with Alzheimer's Tennessee. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to arrive to the park early on Sunday, July 10 as the first 1,500 patrons through the gates will receive a Kyle Schwarber Bobblehead courtesy of Vanderbilt Mortgage. It will also be Top Gun Night presented by Knoxville Harley Davidson at Smokies Stadium featuring special on-field games, scoreboard graphics and music paying homage to 1980's classic film. Like all Sunday contests, it will be a U.S. Cellular Family FUNday at the ballpark. For $48, fans can enjoy a package that include four tickets, four meal vouchers and two kid's zone wristbands. Gates will open at 4 p.m. and the contest is scheduled to get underway at 5:05 p.m.

The homestand continues on Monday, July 11 with a McGhee Tyson Airport Dollar Monday. Fans can purchase hot dogs, popcorn, programs and small Pepsi products for as little as a $1. Following the final out, children in attendance can run the bases courtesy of Shoney's. The game start at 7:05 p.m.

Tuesday, July 12 will be Pack the Park for Polio Night presented by Amica Insurance as the Smokies will do their part to raise awareness and donations to help eradicate the horrible disease. Fans have an opportunity to save some cash as it will be another $2 Tuesday. People in attendance can receive soft serve ice cream, large popcorn, nachos with cheese, hot dogs, draft beer and Pepsi products for as low as $2. It is also be a Pilot Prize Night at Smokies Stadium. All fans in attendance will receive Pilot Prize Cards that can award patrons anything from free gas to various food items from Pilot Food Marts. Tuesday's affair starts at 7:05 p.m.

The homestand wraps up on Wednesday, July 13 with the Smokies' annual Super Splash Day. Attendees have a chance to cool off from the summer heat with unique water-filled on-field contests, jumbotron graphics and music. Wednesday's matinee is scheduled to start at 12:05 p.m.
