Smokies Welcome Biscuits to Town for Five-Game Set on Friday

SEVIERVILLE - The Tennessee Smokies open up a five-game homestand tomorrow night, Friday, August 5, against the Montgomery Biscuits, the Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. Among the highlights for the fantastic five contests are Fireworks on Friday and Saturday, as well as Olympics Night on Friday, Harry Potter Night on Saturday and a T-Shirt Giveaway on Sunday.

The series gets underway on Friday, August 5 with Olympics Night. In honor of the upcomining festivities in Rio de Janeiro, there will be special videoboard graphics, on-field games and music as a part of the fun. It will also be College Fair Night, as students will have a chance to meet with representatives from local colleges and universities on the concourse. The affair will also be another Scout Night with special ticket packages available for local boy and girl scout groups. Finally, like all Friday home contests, there will be a tremendous Postgame Fireworks show following the final out. Friday night fireworks are presented by Pepsi, Coors Light, WIVK, WVLT and the Knoxville News Sentinel. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.

The magic continues as we celebrate the wizarding world on Saturday, August 6 for Harry Potter Night presented by TIS Insurance. There will be unique scoreboard graphics, special games between innings and music in tribute to the legendary book and movie series. The first 250 fans through the gates that evening will receive a Koozie Giveaway presented in partnership with Alzheimer's Tennessee. It will also be another Mother-Son Date Night at Smokies Stadium. A special ticket package includes two tickets, two meal vouchers, a Smokies mini bat, replica batting helmet, a 26-ounce insulated tumbler, Smokies bear head earrings, as well as a field access pass for the Postgame Fireworks display presented in partnership with Alzheimer's Tennessee. One lucky mother and son will also have the opportunity to throw out a ceremonial first pitch as a part of the night. The game will start at 7:05 p.m.

Be prepared to send out plenty of tweets and Instagram posts on Sunday, August 7 for Social Media Night. There will be plenty of social media-themed graphics, on-field contests and much more as a part of the interactive fun. The first 1,000 fans in attendance on Sunday will also receive a T-Shirt Giveaway courtesy of Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton. Like all Sunday games, it will be a U.S. Cellular Family FUNday at Smokies Stadium. For $48, fans can enjoy a package that include four tickets, four meal vouchers and two kid's zone wristbands. The evening's affair will also be a Food City Family Night presented by Orville Redenbacher and ConAgra. Gates will open at 4 p.m. and the contest is scheduled to get underway at 5:05 p.m.

The series continues with a McGhee Tyson Airport Dollar Monday on August 8. Fans can purchase hot dogs, popcorn, programs and small Pepsi products for as cheap as $1. After the final out, children in attendance will have the opportunity to run the bases courtesy of Shoney's. First pitch will be at 7:05 p.m.

The homestand wraps up on Tuesday, August 9 with a savings-filled $2 Tuesday. People in attendance can receive soft serve ice cream, large popcorn, nachos with cheese, hot dogs, draft beer and Pepsi products for as low as $2. It will also be a Pilot Prize Night at the stadium. All fans in attendance will receive Pilot Prize Cards that can award patrons anything from free gas to various food items from Pilot Food Marts. The final contest will kick start at 7:05 p.m.
