Uncasville, CT (Saturday, April 29, 2017) - The Vancouver Stealth (9-9) defeated the New England Black Wolves (8-10) on Saturday night, 17-16.

The Stealth withheld their season's best offensive effort for their final game. Without overhyping, the 66-plus minutes are in the running for the most entertaining game of the 2017 National Lacrosse League campaign. The teams combined for eight multi-goal runs, including separate five-goal runs in the second half.

"It was a great game and it may have been the greatest game I have ever been a part of in my whole life," said Assistant General Manager and Head Coach Jamie Batley. "I have to give the guys a lot of credit, we were exhausted in the first quarter. To come out with a gutsy win like that is very impressive."

It took Corey Small 20 minutes to get in the goal column on Saturday night. But it most certainly would not be his last of the evening. He would go on to score the games 26th goal which put the Stealth up 15-11. A miraculous run by the Black Wolves had New England with a 16-15 lead heading into the final minute. Small tied the game up with 18 seconds to go, in what should have been the final frame. Number 15 added the exclamation point when he scored the game winning goal in overtime etching his name in the Stealth's record book. With a seven-point game he is now tied with Rhys Duch and Colin Dolin for most points in a single season with 111.

In addition to Small, Stealth sniper Rhys Duch added three goals and seven points on the evening.

"I am a little tired but super excited for this group," said Rhys Duch. "The way this team is playing, the run we are on, we are creating Stealth fans in Vancouver and not just lacrosse fans. People are seeing what we are doing and they are getting excited. So, I challenge the Vancouver community to sell out the Langley Events Centre next weekend."

Vancouver's sight is now set on the Colorado Mammoth in the West Division Semifinal. The Langley Events Centre will play host on May 6, 2017 at 7:00pm.

Playoff tickets are available now at the Langley Events Centre Box Office at 604-882-8800 or on Ticket Rocket.co.
