MEMPHIS, TN - Colorado Springs shutout Memphis 3-0 Sunday afternoon at AutoZone Park in front of 11,035 fans.

The Sox claimed the lead in the second inning with an RBI-single by Will Nieves and added two more in the third off a passed ball by catcher Mitch Canham as Brandon Wood's base hit to third sent Matt McBride home to cap the rally. Nieves has two hits to lead the Sky Sox. The 'Birds were shutout for the third time this year, extended their losing streak to eight games.

Colorado Springs starter Drew Pomeranz picked up the win tossing six scoreless innings, allowing five hits with five strikeouts. Redbirds starter Brian Broderick was pinned with the loss after allowing three runs, only one earned while walking two and striking out three. Broderick also led the 'Birds at the plate going 2-for-2 with one double.

The Redbirds and Sky Sox play tomorrow night with game time scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Memphis sends Joe Kelly to the mound to face Colorado Springs righty Guillermo Moscoso.
