Six-Game Home Stand Starts Tuesday

LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg Hillcats return to historic City Stadium on Tuesday, May 14 for a six-game home stand that runs through Sunday, May 19. The home stand features back-to-back three-game sets with the Frederick Keys and Carolina Mudcats; the first time both teams have been to City Stadium this season. The weekend set features fireworks, the Seventh Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night and a rally towel giveaway.

This season's daily specials also continue, starting with Half-Price Tuesday to kick off the home stand. All three games with the Keys start at 6:05pm with gates opening at 5pm. Tuesday general admission tickets are just $4, courtesy of ABC 13. Then on Wednesday, the savings continue with a WLNI Win-Win Wednesday. As fans walk through the gates, they'll get a free ticket to our next Wednesday home game.

The Frederick series wraps up Thursday, May 16, with Theme Thursday-Ladies Night! Females 15 and older will receive half-off admission and have the chance to register to win prizes including a $200 prize from Bowen Jewelry Company. It's also a Thursday Cheers with $2 drink specials presented by Miller Lite, Yuengling & 97.9 FM The Planet .

The Carolina Mudcats come to town on Friday, May 17 to begin a three-game weekend series. Gates open at 5pm for the 6:05pm start. Friday is Reading Night, presented by Children's Dentistry & Orthodontics of Lynchburg, to celebrate all the participants of the Hillcats' "Hit the Books!" Reading Program. Plus, stick around for post-game Fireworks, presented by Bee Line Towing . The series continues Saturday night with the Seventh Annual "Swing For A Cure" Breast Cancer Awareness Night, presented by Centra's Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center. The gates open at 5pm and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free pink t-shirt. The Hillcats will also wear special commemorative pink uniforms which can be bid on during a silent auction during the game. Tickets for the event are $10 and a portion of every ticket sold, proceeds from the auction, and sponsor donations will be donated to the Susan G. Komen For The Cure Foundation. Last year's event raised over $7,000.

The home stand concludes on Sunday, May 19, with a 2:05pm game. Gates open at 1pm and fans will get a Hillcats rally towel, presented by Pepsi and WLNI. The towels had originally been scheduled to be given out during a rained-out game in April. It's also a Faith Sunday, offering $3 advance tickets to church groups of ten or more. Plus, we'll have pregame autographs on the concourse from 1-1:30pm, kids 14 and under that are a member of Southpaw's Kids Club, presented by Yogurt Yeti, will receive a free hot dog and drink, and post-game Kids Run the bases presented by Uncle Bob's Self Storage .
