Six Alouettes named CFL All-Stars

Montreal, December 3, 2012 - The Canadian Football League unveiled its 2012 CFL All-Stars today and the Montreal Alouettes lead the East Division with six selections.

Quarterback: ANTHONY CALVILLO (5th selection)

CFL All-Star: 2002, 2003, 2008, 2009, 2012

Calvillo earns his fifth CFL All-Star selection following another superb season in which he finished his 19th CFL campaign - 15th with the Alouettes - with 5,082 passing yards, making him the first pivot in league history to hit 5,000 yards in a season seven times in his career. He also threw for 300 yards in eight straight games, breaking Doug Flutie's CFL single-season record set in 1991 with the B.C. Lions. Calvillo registered a quarterback rating of 98.3 after completing 333 of his 555 pass attempts with 31 touchdowns and two rushing scores.

Centre: LUC BRODEUR-JOURDAIN (1st selection)

CFL All-Star: 2012

Brodeur-Jourdain picks up his first selection as a CFL All-Star. All season long, the Saint-Hyacinthe, QC, native helped his teammates on the offensive line give Anthony Calvillo plenty of time to locate open receivers en route to the Alouettes finishing the regular season second in the CFL in passing yards and touchdown passes.

Guard: SCOTT FLORY (9th selection)

CFL All-Star: 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012

Flory leads the Alouettes with his 8th selection as a CFL All-Star. The veteran guard started all 18 regular season games and was part of an offensive line that paved the way for the running game as the team averaged 5.0 yards per carry while helping three different running back rush for over 100 yards in a game.

Tackle: JOSH BOURKE (2nd selection)

CFL All-Star: 2011, 2012

Bourke earns his second consecutive nomination as a CFL All-Star following a season where he was named the East Division's Most Outstanding Lineman. The 30-year-old played an integral part on the Alouettes' offensive line which allowed just 30 sacks, tied for fewest in the league this season.

Linebacker: SHEA EMRY (1st selection)

CFL All-Star: 2012

Emry earns his first selection as a CFL All-Star following a stellar campaign which saw the Richmond, BC native amass a team-high and career-best 87 defensive tackles this season, including seven sacks, leaving him in fifth in the CFL in both categories. Emry was also in the running for the league's Most Outstanding Defensive and Canadian Player awards.

Safety: KYRIES HEBERT (1st selection)

CFL All-Star: 2012

Safety Kyries Hebert picks up his first CFL All-Star selection. The product of Louisiana-Lafayette led the league with 28 special teams tackles and finished third in the Als' secondary for defensive tackles with 48. Hebert also recovered a perfect onside field goal by kicker Sean Whyte back in Week 12.
