Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips (@WHLSilvertips), in conjunction with partners at Providence Regional Medical Center and the Safeway Foundation, are proud to announce $81,335 in ticket sales, jersey auction and merchandise proceeds were raised through Pink The Rink, held Saturday, Oct. 15 before 7,678 fans at XFINITY Arena in a game between the Everett Silvertips and Seattle Thunderbirds.

"It never ceases to amaze us with the support this cornerstone event receives from our Silvertips fans, Providence Regional Medical Center, Safeway stores and the Safeway Foundation," said Silvertips president and Consolidated Sports Holdings chief operating officer Zoran Rajcic. "It's our goal to provide quality entertainment for residents of the Pacific Northwest, but on a larger scale to make a positive impact with individuals in need throughout our region. We consider this a success and continue to seek opportunities to enhance the quality of this magnificent event."

The event was scheduled to benefit Providence General Foundation, in support of breast health activities and free mammograms for women in Snohomish County facing financial challenges. Over the last eight seasons the Silvertips have now helped raise over $580,000 from the Pink The Rink event, providing approximately 5,000 free mammograms for women in Snohomish County.

Fans in attendance were invited to wear pink to support the event's awareness goals. An intermission event saluted breast cancer survivors in attendance, assembling at center ice at XFINITY Arena while a special pregame presentation included several thousand Pink The Rink light-up bracelets, courtesy of Providence Comprehensive Breast Center and the Safeway Foundation.

The Silvertips wore an exclusive specialty jersey for the game, presenting a white base, pink and green stripes on the sleeves, an alternate bear logo, and a pink with green outlined paw on the shoulder. Game worn, autographed jerseys were available for purchase on a first-come, first-serve basis while remaining jerseys were made available for bids during an in-game silent auction.
