Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips (@WHLSilvertips) announced their Giveaway and Promotional Schedule for the 2016-17 season, their 14th in the Western Hockey League, opening their home schedule Sept. 24 against the Vancouver Giants at XFINITY Arena.

Single game tickets for all 36 Silvertips home games are now on sale and can be purchased in person at XFINITY Arena, by calling (425) 252-5100, or visiting everettsilvertips.com/tickets.

Carrying on with a tradition, the Silvertips 2016-17 Giveaway and Promotional Schedule includes a vast range of fan giveaways, special events, and more, designed to enhance entertainment value for all ages attending games at XFINITY Arena.

Opening the home schedule, covering 36 games this season, is Opening Night against the Vancouver Giants on Saturday, Sept. 24 (7:05 p.m.) delivering the return of "Fill the House" night, benefiting Housing Hope. The meeting will be the second of the season and completes a "home-and-home" series preceded by the Silvertips visit to Langley to face the Giants on Sept. 23. Ticket packages for "Fill the House" include a Silvertips snapback hat (while supplies last) and are available for $22 in the upper level and $25 in the lower level.

Proceeds of ticket sales will benefit housing opportunities for emergencies and low-income families. The first 5,000 fans in attendance for Opening Night will also receive a collectible Magnetic Schedule, presented by Lamoureux Real Estate and Sound Transit.

The flagship event of the Silvertips promotional calendar follows on Saturday, Oct. 15 (7:05 p.m.) for the annual "Pink The Rink" game against the Seattle Thunderbirds, presented by Providence Regional Medical Center and the Safeway Foundation. The Silvertips will unveil a newly designed jersey for game worn and promotional opportunities, to assist fundraising to support breast cancer prevention and awareness.

The event's tradition returns an auction for select game worn models and each winning bid receives a photo opportunity with their respective Silvertips player, on ice as part of the jersey distribution ceremony. The Silvertips will also offer signed "Pink The Rink" pucks, available at XFINITY Arena each game night for $20 to support proceeds benefiting Providence Comprehensive Breast Cancer. Pink the Rink glow sticks, courtesy of Providence General Foundation and the Safeway Foundation, will also be given away to fans in attendance (limited quantities available) at the door.

Popular theme nights return to XFINITY Arena this hockey season and involve creative opportunities for fans in attendance on select nights, including the return of "Teddy Bear Toss" night and the conclusion of the Christmas House drive on Saturday, Dec. 17 vs. Portland, following last season's comeback of the Teddy Bear Toss event that delivered 8,426 stuffed animals from fans to underprivileged families during the holiday season. Movember (Nov. 19), the Purple vs. Crimson Game (Nov. 23) to salute Huskies and Cougars faithful, the annual Throwback Classic game (Dec. 30), Local Heroes Night (Jan. 14) presented by Wolfe Plumbing Inc. & Wolfe Fire Protection, Inc., a 2:05 p.m. Kids Day Game (Jan. 16) to invite local area schools for an education emphasized game, Country Night (Jan. 20), Lincoln's Birthday (Jan. 29) which features local Seattle area mascots, Alumni Night (Feb. 4), 90's Night (Feb. 24), Navy Appreciation Night (Mar. 4), and Fan Appreciation Night (Mar. 18) also support the Silvertips theme night calendar.
