Sifers Named To PlanetUSA Team

Toronto Marlies News Release
The American Hockey League announced today that Toronto Marlies defenceman Jaime Sifers was named to the PlanetUSA All-Star team roster for the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Charter Communications, to be played later this month at the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass.
Sifers, 25, appeared in 19 games with the Marlies this season, collecting six points (two goals, four assists) and 19 penalty minutes. Sifers made his NHL debut on December 8, 2008 versus the New York Islanders and is currently playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He recorded his first career NHL point (assist) on December 20, 2008 against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Stratford, CT native was named the Marlies assistant captain at the beginning of the 2008-09 season.
