Sidewinders Walk Off On Sky Sox In 10th

Tucson, AZ - Tim Raines, Jr.'s single in the tenth inning gave the Sidewinders a 4-3 win against the Sky Sox on Friday night.

Raines, Jr. came up to plate with bases loaded in the bottom of the tenth inning with one out and hit a groundball basehit into left field bringing in Leo Rosales from third and snap a two game losing streak for the Sidewinders.

Tucson took an early lead in the first when Emilio Bonifacio lead off the game with a double and then was brought in by a Josh Whitesell RBI groundout.

Colorado Springs captured the lead in the third when Joe Koshansky hit his PCL leading 27th double scoring two.

Tucson tied the game, 2-2, in the third off a Jesus Merchan single driving in Jamie D'Antona from second.

Both teams put up run in the fifth to make it 3-3, the Sky Sox scored off a Seth Smith line drive RBI and the Sidewinders go their run when Whitesell hit a sac fly to right scoring Tim Raines, Jr.

Right-handed pitcher Bayron Zepeda made his Sidewinder debut in the sixth inning. He struck out the first batter he faced and retired the next two, while throwing six of eight pitches for strikes. The Sidewinders threatened twice in the seventh and eighth inning with bases loaded but were unable to break the tie in until the tenth inning.
