1) Rocky Mountain RiverKings 2) Blazers Flex Defensive Muscle 3) Day Game in Rio Rancho

1- The Mississippi RiverKings (32-14-3) jumped into first place in the Northeast Division thanks to an unbelievable 3-0 weekend with two wins in Colorado and one in Rocky Mountain in a 72 hour period. The RiverKings looked very impressive doubling up the Eagles by a combined score of 10-5 in their two victories in the Budweiser Events Center. The ‘Kings then took out the Rage on Sunday afternoon by a 5-1 score. Mississippi heads home to face the Wichita Thunder (16-30-3) in a pair of games this weekend.

2- The OKC Blazers earned three big wins this past week winning an early start game at home versus the Southern Conference leading Texas Brahmas and then traveling to Rapid City and taking a pair of games from the expansion Rush. Goaltender Doug Groenestege won all three games improving his record to 17-4-3 with a league-leading 2.04 goals against average. He stopped 75 of 80 shots this past week and was named the Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week for his efforts. OKC has a strong test this week playing three-games-in-three-nights versus the teams of the Southeast Division (@ Corpus Christi on Friday, @ Rio Grande Valley on Saturday and @ Texas on Sunday).

3- A pair of Southwest Division rivals will battle on Tuesday morning at the Santa Ana Star Center when the New Mexico Scorpions host the Amarillo Gorillas. Face-off is scheduled for 10:30 AM for the Scorps annual Kid's Day Game. The game was previously scheduled to be played earlier in the season but a huge snow and ice storm hit the greater Albuquerque area forcing the postponement. Both teams are in need of getting on a big role with 16 games remaining in the regular season for the Gorillas and 18 games left for the Scorpions. NMX is nine points behind Arizona for the fifth and final Southern Conference playoff spot. New Mexico is 3-2-0 in their last five games and the Gorillas have earned points in a season-high four straight games (2-0-2).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 1 The number of home games the Rocky Mountain Rage have in February...They dropped their lone home game on Sunday by a 5-1 score to Mississippi...The Rage went 4-3-0 on their seven-game road trip prior to Sunday and begin a five-game journey on Friday at Colorado 1/30/09 The date of the last game that Wichita's Tim Boron played in...He is considered day-to-day 25 The number of saves that Tulsa's Davis Parley made in Saturday's shutout win over Wichita...It was the first shutout for the Oilers franchise since November 27th, 2007 (Odessa) 61 The number of shots on goal the Mudbugs fired vs. Tulsa on Feb. 13 tying a franchise record...It is second only to OKC for shots in a game this season in the CHL

HOT & NOT Sizzling Mississippi RiverKings- Have won three straight games and have points in nine straight going 7-0-2 over that stretch and claiming first place in the Northeast Division Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs- Are 8-1-0 in their last nine games Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees- Have won six of their last seven games Frigid Wichita Thunder- Are 2-6-1 in their last seven games Odessa Jackalopes- Have gone six straight games without a win (0-3-3) Rapid City Rush- The expansion Rush are 2-10-1 in their last 13 games

TIDBITS -The Colorado Eagles dropped back-to-back home games for the first time since the 2005-06 season and are just 2-4-0 in their last six games overall -Arizona was re-assigned Adam Perry from the AHL's San Antonio Rampage...Perry has 45 points (18-27=45) in 31 games with Arizona this season and at the time of his call-up had eight points (5-3=8) in his previous three games -The Sundogs Chris Bartolone is on a six-game point streak scoring five goals with five assists over that stretch -Tulsa's Jeff Christian was named the Oakley CHL Player of the Week with three goals and five assists last week in three games
