Shorebirds hand Legends record-breaking 19-0 loss

The Delmarva Shorebirds set new highs for runs and margin of victory at Perdue Stadium as they handed the Lexington Legends a 19-0 loss Monday night. The Shorebirds' playing facility opened in 1996.
The Shorebirds scored 19 runs on 24 hits. They capped the night with a nine-run rally in the seventh inning. Shortstop Greg Miclat was five-for-six, and second baseman Rodolfo Cardona drove in six runs. Every player in the starting lineup for Delmarva had at least one hit, and eight players had at least two hits.
Starter Nathan Moreau (3-2) got the win for the Shorebirds. Kyle Greenwalt (7-8) was the losing pitcher.
The two teams will play again Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. in the second of a four-game series.
