JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville Sharks announced today that wide receiver Montario Hunter signed with the Jacksonville Sharks for his first year of arena football.
Montario Hunter (6'0",196) spent the 2017 season with the BC Lions of the CFL. In 2016, Hunter entered rookie Minicamp with New York Jets and attended a workout with the Green Bay Packers as an unsigned free agent before signing with the Seattle Seahawks where he competed for a roster position during the 2016 Seattle Seahawks training camp.
Hunter began his college career at Elon University before transferring to Elizabeth City State College where he led the Vikings receiving core with 21 receptions for 527 yards and five touchdowns giving him the highest yards per catch average (25.1) in Division II.
Hunter is a native of Ahoskie, North Carolina where he lettered in both baseball and football at Hertford County High School. During his time at Hertford he recorded 40 receptions for 1,500 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns. Hunter finished his high school career at Fork Union Military Academy before committing to Elon University.
