Sharks Add Former Blaze Receiver Kelley

November 13, 2012 - Arena Football League (AFL) - Jacksonville Sharks News Release

JACKSONVILLE - The 2012 South Division Champion Jacksonville Sharks announced Tuesday that the team has brought more talent into its receiving corps, as wide receiver Jeremy Kelley has been assigned to the Jacksonville roster on a two-year contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 24-year-old Kelley is a second-year Arena Football League veteran who debuted with the Utah Blaze in 2012. A midseason addition to the Utah roster, Kelley caught 19 passes for 231 yards and seven touchdowns in eight games with the Blaze. Late in the regular season, Kelley turned in three consecutive two-touchdown performances, finding the end zone twice in each of Weeks 17, 18 and 19.

Before joining the Blaze, Kelley made his professional debut with the CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2011, catching two passes for 15 yards with the team.

Kelley spent his collegiate career at the University of Maine, where he played in 37 games from 2007 to 2010. As a senior, Kelley was a force on special teams as he blocked a pair of kicks. He was named a Maine Scholar-Athlete in 2009, his junior season as a member of the Black Bears. Kelley is a native of West Seneca, New York.
