Sharks Add Dale Pierson to Roster

JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville Sharks announced today that defensive lineman Dale Pierson signed with the Jacksonville Sharks and has been added to the 2017 roster.

Dale Pierson (6'2,245) enters his rookie season playing arena football. Prior to the Sharks, Pierson was an NFL free agent who participated in the Green Bay Packers Rookie Mini Camp during the 2016 season. The Sharks newest lineman, finished his college career at Iowa State where he accumulated a total of 70 tackles, 17 for a loss, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

During his senior year in 2015, Pierson made Second Team All-Big 12 starting in all 12 games for the Cyclones. Pierson led the Iowa State linemen in tackles with 41 and tied the school's record with eight sacks, ranking third in the Big 12 and 28th nationally. In 2014, he played in all 12 games for the Iowa State, recording 29 tackles, 4.5 for a loss, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.

Pierson began his college career at Pasadena Community College where he was a two-time All-Northern Conference Selection. He ranked as the 10th-best defensive end in junior college by 247Sports and was listed as the seventh-best strongside defensive end by JCgridiron.com. His sophomore year, he led the conference in sacks with 11, posted 48 tackles, 19 tackles for a loss, seven QB hurries, two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. As a freshman, he had 64 tackles, nine for a loss and two sacks.

Pierson, is a native of Bakersfield, California, where he was regional lineman of the year at Independence High School and played in state playoffs twice.
