Seven players from Chivas' legendary 'Campeonisimo' to make appearance against Chicago Fire

CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, June 29, 2005) - Seven players from Club Deportivo Guadalajara's 'Campeonísimo' era will be present at The Home Depot Center on Saturday, July 2, when Chivas USA takes on the Chicago Fire at 7:00 p.m. PT.

Goalkeeper Jaime 'Tubo' Gómez, defenders Guillermo 'Tigre' Sepúlveda, Arturo 'Curita' Chaires, midfielders Sabás Ponce and forwards Francisco Jara, Salvador 'Chava' Reyes and Crescencio 'Mellone' Gutiérrez, formed part of Chivas' legendary 'Campeonísimo' side that won seven titles in ten years, 1956-1965, including four back-to-back championship titles from 1958-1962.

The legendary players will arrive this Thursday, June 31, at 12:00 noon PT and will be available for interviews during Chivas USA's Friday morning training session, starting at 10:00 a.m. at The Home Depot Center. Later that day, they will attend a session of the Chivas USA Soccer Academy, starting at 5:30 p.m.

On gameday, Saturday, the seven players will be signing autographs in ChivaTown from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m., before receiving special recognition during a halftime presentation at The Home Depot Center.
