Seven Former IceHogs Invited to 2018 Prospect Tournament

August 29, 2018 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rockford IceHogs News Release

CHICAGO - The Chicago Blackhawks today announced the roster for the 2018 Prospect Tournament, which will be held at Centre Ice Arena in Traverse City, Michigan from Sept. 7-11. The team includes 25 players (14 forwards, eight defensemen and three goaltenders) and will be coached by the Rockford IceHogs' staff in Head Coach Jeremy Colliton and Assistant Coaches Sheldon Brookbank and Derek King.

The Blackhawks prospect team is seeking a repeat as tournament champions after Alex DeBrincat led the 2017 squad to a thrilling, come-from-behind win in overtime during last year's title game.

This year's roster is highlighted by Chicago's 2018 first-round picks Adam Boqvist and Nicolas Beaudin, and seven former IceHogs skaters, including forwards Victor Ejdsell, Alexandre Fortin and Graham Knott.

The Blackhawks' prospects will compete against teams from the Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota Wild, New York Rangers and St. Louis Blues during the five-day showcase. Teams are split into two divisions and will square off against each club within their division once during round-robin play before a crossover on the final day of the tournament, with the first-place finishers in each division meeting for the championship on Tuesday, Sept. 11.

Tickets for the 2018 Prospect Tournament can be purchased at Centre Ice Arena or www.centreice.org.
