Florence Y'alls News Release

Florence, Ky. - The Florence Freedom, presented by Titan Mechanical Solutions, open up an important three-game series with the Normal CornBelters tonight at UC Health Stadium.

The Freedom (35-43) sit five-and-a-half games behind Normal, who currently holds the final wild card spot, in the Frontier League playoff race. Florence is 5-1 against the CornBelters this season and faces them six times over their final 18 games.

The three-game series against the CornBelters begins Wednesday with a doubleheader of seven-inning games that starts at 5:35 p.m. The series finale will take place at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday.

With only nine home games left this regular season, fans are encouraged to support the Freedom as Northern Kentucky's minor league team plays crucial games down the stretch. After this three-game series August 17-18, the Freedom wrap up their home schedule with a six-game home stand, August 26-28 and August 30-September 1.

As the Freedom push for their fourth postseason birth in five years, the team will send its top three starting pitchers to the mound. Jeremy Gooding (6-6, 3.74 ERA) and Cody Gray (7-1, 3.13 ERA) will start on Wednesday before Jordan Kraus (5-8, 3.45 ERA) takes the ball for Thursday's finale.
