Binghamton Senators News Release

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 5, 2013) - The Ottawa Senators today recalled forward Mark Stone from the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators .

After making his National Hockey League (and professional career) debut in Game 5 of last spring's Eastern Conference NHL quarter-final playoff series against the New York Rangers, the recall is the first of Stone's regular-season career. In 38 AHL contests with the B-Sens this season, the Winnipeg native has recorded 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) and 10 penalty minutes. He currently ranks second among active B-Sens with a +15 plus-minus rating.

Stone, 20, has appeared in two NHL post-season contests and registered an assist on Jason Spezza's game-winning goal in his professional debut last April 21 at Madison Square Garden - a 2-0 Ottawa victory.

A first team Western Hockey League all-star in each of the last two seasons, Stone's four-season junior career with the Brandon Wheat Kings saw him register 296 points (106 goals, 190 assists) over 232 contests.

The Senators' sixth-round pick (178th overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Stone led Canada in goals (seven) and points (10) at the 2012 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Alberta.
