Second Round of #NikeFriendlies Takes Center Stage at 2017 Girls' #WinterShowcase

Welcome again to #WinterShowcase Daily. The second round of #NikeFriendlies matches takes center stage this afternoon when Brazil faces England, looking to solidify its place atop the tournament table, while the USA caps off the evening in an important contest against Finland, wherein a win for either team would keep them within shooting distance of the tournament title, which will be decided by the final round of matches on Monday.
Throughout the Women's edition of the 2017 Development Academy Winter Showcase and Nike International Friendlies, U.S. Soccer will deliver all the latest tournament news, features and more right to your inbox.
The 2017 Girls' DA #WinterShowcase also continues today, running concurrently with the #NikeFriendlies, after a pair of fantastic feature games yesterday that saw Boston Breakers Academy escape Portland Thorns FC in a U-16/17 showdown via a late penalty kick that led to a 2-1 win. Following that game, Crossfire Premier downed Real Colorado 2-0 in a U-18/19 match-up.
Tomorrow, the final feature games of the 2017 Girls' DA #WinterShowcase will be broadcast on ussoccerda.com, Facebook or YouTube. In the day's opening game, Solar Soccer Club and Washington Spirit Academy-Virginia meet in a U-16/17 matchup at 11 a.m. ET. Later on, NTH Tophat and Penn Fusion Soccer Academy take the field for a big time U-18/19 game at 1 p.m.

If you haven't yet, c heck out Five Things to Know about the Girls' portion of the 2017 Development Academy Winter Showcase for all the info about the DA's first program-wide event of the 2017-18 season. This exciting inaugural event, which includes 68 Girls' Development Academy Clubs at the U-15, 17 and 19 age levels, will conduct DA games until Dec. 10. It is a special occasion for clubs to compete against teams they don't normally see in their regular season.
Play at the 2017 #NikeFriendlies resumes on today with t he USA meeting Finland at 6:30 p.m. ET in a match both teams will be eyeing with hopes a victory will keep them within striking distance of a chance to claim the inaugural #NikeFriendlies title.
