Second Edition of the International U14 Qualification Tournament

MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact announced on Thursday the second edition of the International U14 qualification tournament, presented by Nutrilait, which will take place at Centre Nutrilait from April 20 to 22. The 16-team tournament is available for all U14 Quebec teams, and the winner will qualify for the International U14, which will also take place at Centre Nutrilait from June 28 to July 1. The Fédération des producteurs d'oeufs du Québec will also offer its mezzanine at Stade Saputo to the winner for the game against the New England Revolution, on May 5.

Clubs that wish to register for the qualification tournament can do so as of February 20 at 9am by visiting the Montreal Impact Academy's website directly. Details of the tournament can be found here.

The latest you can register is February 27, 2018.

"It's truly a pleasure to host the province's teams for this competition for a second time," said the Montreal Impact Academy's director, Philippe Eullaffroy. "Last year, the level of competition was very high and the Montréal-Nord Pumas went on to win the final. We're eager to see who will earn their spot in the International U14 this year."

In 2017, at the first edition of the qualification tournament, Montréal-Nord beat CS Saint-Laurent 2-0 in the final to earn a spot in the International U14, where the team finished seventh.

At the International U14, New England won the second edition of the tournament thanks to a 1-0 victory over Bologna FC.

Dates: April 20-22

Number of teams: 16 teams

Registration: as of February 20, 2018, 9am

Admissibility: players born in 2004 or 2005

Participation cost: $550

Winner: Qualification for the International U14 from Jun 28 to July 1 and a mezzanine at Stade Saputo on May 5
