The SeaWolves took down the Binghamton Mets on Tuesday night at Jerry Uht Park in a 2-1 pitchers duel to even their record to .500.

The Mets struck for a run in the top of the first inning against Erie starter Kyle Lobstein. With two outs, Richard Lucas singled to extend the inning for Rhyne Hughes. Hughes doubled home Lucas for a 1-0 Mets edge. Lobstein would go on to shut down Binghamton, working 5.2 innings.

The SeaWolves tied the game in the bottom of the sixth against Mets starter Rafael Montero. Tyler Collins doubled down the left field line with one out putting a runner in scoring position. With two outs, Ramon Cabrera laced an RBI double down the right field line, tying the game at 1-1. Cabrera finished the night going 4-for-4.

In the seventh, Erie took the lead against reliever John Church. James Robbins led off with a double to the alley in left-center. He moved to third on a Brandon Douglas groundout and scored on a Marcus Lemon sacrifice fly for a 2-1 lead.

Relievers Michael Morrison (1-0) and Justin Souza combined to shut down the Mets over the final 3.1 innings of the game, preserving the Erie win. Souza picked up his second save in as many chances.

The SeaWolves and Mets meet in the rubber game of the series on Wednesday afternoon at 12:35 p.m. RHP Patrick Cooper takes the mound for Erie against RHP Cory Mazzoni.
