Seattle Storm and Seattle Reign FC Announce Reign Storm Night

SEATTLE - To celebrate Seattle's two professional women's teams, the Seattle Storm and Seattle Reign FC have announced a two-part 'Reign Storm Night' - one game at each of the teams' home venues.

On July 1 at KeyArena, the first 3,000 fans will have a chance to receive a Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe poster. Reign FC players will be on the concourse to sign autographs pregame before the Storm takes on the Connecticut Sun at 4 p.m. PT.

On July 7 at Memorial Stadium, Storm players will be in the stadium cheering for Reign FC as they face off against the Houston Dash at 7 p.m. PT. The first 3,000 fans through the gates at the UW Medicine Pitch at Memorial Stadium will receive the Bird and Rapinoe poster, and Storm players will be signing autographs during the game.

Seattle Reign FC was one of the founding teams of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in 2013 and have emerged as one of the top teams in the league. After finishing just 5-14 in their inaugural season in 2013, the Reign made championship appearances in both 2014 and 2015, posting a combined record of 29-5 during that span. The team recorded winning records the last two seasons and is off to a 2-0-0 start in 2018, including a season-opening 2-1 triumph over the Washington Spirit on March 24.

On the hardwood, the Storm is under a new direction under head coach Dan Hughes, and the team has high expectations with the return of its 'big three' of Bird, Breanna Stewart, and Jewell Loyd. The two-time WNBA champion (2004, 2010) Storm made the playoffs the last two seasons. Seattle tips off the 2018 campaign on May 20 vs. Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury at 6 p.m. PT.
