Sea Dogs Walk off on SeaWolves

The SeaWolves dropped their second straight to the Portland Sea Dogs as fell in the middle game of the series 2-1.

Erie jumped ahead in the second against Portland starter Stolmy Pimentel. With one out, Avisail Garcia singled and stole second. He scored on a two-out Brandon Douglas base hit for a 1-0 lead.

The Sea Dogs tied the game in the bottom of the fifth against Erie starter Jared Gayhart. With one out, Ryan Dent and Zach Gentile each singled. With two outs, Marquez Smith reached to load the bases on a Douglas error. Jeremy Hazelbaker singled home Dent tying the game.

The ball game remain tied until the bottom of the ninth inning when the Sea Dogs won the game against reliever Ryan Robowski. After striking out the first two of the inning, Robowski gave up a single to Gentile and a walk to Jackie Bradley, Jr. Smith lined a game-winning single to center giving Portland a 2-1 win.

Gayhart took the no-decision allowing an unearned run on five hits with a walk and five strikeouts in five innings of work.

Rob Waite tossed three scoreless innings in relief in his first appearance since returning from Toledo.

The SeaWolves will look to avoid a sweep on Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field.1:00 First Pitch. RHP James Avery (10-8, 4.25 ERA) takes the mound for Erie.
