Saint John Sea Dogs News Release

CHARLOTTETOWN - General Manager Darrell Young announced today the Saint John Sea Dogs have traded forward Adam Marsh to the Val-d'Or Foreurs.

The move became official prior to the start of today's 2016 QMJHL Entry Draft.

The Sea Dogs also sent a 2016 fifth-round pick to the Foreurs. In return, Saint John received a 2016 fourth-round pick and a 2018 second-round selection.

Marsh, 18, was originally signed as a free agent by the Sea Dogs prior to the 2014-15 season. The Chicago-native posted 47 goals and 86 points in 108 games over two seasons with Saint John. He was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the seventh round (200th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.

"These decisions are never easy," Young said of the transaction. "We have a number of players in our organization whom we believe can be top-six forwards next season. This is an exciting opportunity for Adam. He worked hard for us and we wish him nothing but the best on and off the ice."

The 2016 QMJHL Entry Draft begins at 10 a.m. at Eastlink Centre.

The Sea Dogs will have up-to-the-minute updates on Twitter (@SJSeaDogs), Instagram (@SJSeaDogs) and Facebook (facebook.com/SJSeaDogs). Fans can also follow details on saintjohnseadogs.com.
