Saint John Sea Dogs News Release

SAINT JOHN - Head Coach Danny Flynn announced today the Saint John Sea Dogs have signed defenceman Bryson Michel.

Michel, 6'1" and 211 lbs., spent most of last season with the Canadian International Hockey Academy's (CIHA) Green Midget AAA team, posting four goals, 16 points and 40 penalty minutes in 43 games. The 16-year-old rearguard also tallied one goal in five games with the Brockville Tikis of the Central Canada Hockey League 2 (CCHL2).

He had been attending training camp on a tryout basis.

"Bryson is a big, strong left defenceman," Flynn said. "He's also a late-1999 birthday. He's had a really effective camp for us so far. He has good size and he's a good skater. We believe he has the potential to mature into solid, steady defenceman."

Michel is scheduled to be in the lineup when the Sea Dogs host the Acadie-Bathurst Titan this afternoon at 3 p.m. at Harbour Station. Tickets are available at the Harbour Station Box Office and online.
