LOOKING FOR #1 : Portland seeks their first ever series win in Richmond, Virginia, taking on the Flying Squirrels in the middle game of a 3-game set on Saturday night...The 'Dogs are 0-11-2 in their last 13 series, but would snap that drought with a victory tonight...RHP Austin Maddox (1-0, 1.04) makes the spot-start for Justin Haley, who will make his Triple-A debut tonight for Pawtucket...The Sea Dogs are 2-2 on their roadtrip and 4-6 during a 15-game stretch against the Western Division.
THAT WAS A FUN GAME : Andrew Benintendi snapped a 1-1 tie, delivering a game-winning two-out RBI double in the eighth, as the Sea Dogs took the series opener from Richmond, 3-1...Williams Jerez (1-0) earned his first win, working 2.1 scoreless on one hit and two strikeouts...Chandler Shepherd pitched the ninth inning to earn his sixth save of the season...Trailing 1-0, the 'Dogs tied the game in the fifth on a run-scoring single by Rainel Rosario...Cody Decker led off the ninth with his second homer in three games.
