Sea Dogs Drop Series Finale to B-Mets 8-1

Portland, Maine - T he Binghamton Mets (16-19) used an offensive onslaught and defeated the Sea Dogs (13-25) 8-1 in the finale of the five-game series on Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field. Portland still won the series three games to two.

Binghamton scored four times in the first inning off of Ty Buttrey (L, 0-6), who allowed seven hits and walked two in his lone inning of the outing. Dominic Smith, Xorge Carrillo, Phillip Evans, and Maikis De La Cruz each had an RBI single in the frame.

Binghamton added another run in the fifth, then three more in the sixth - including a solo home run by Maikis De La Cruz off of Williams Jerez. The Mets racked up 17 hits - including three for Matt Oberste and two each for Carrillo, De La Cruz, Smith, Niuman Romero, Derrik Gibson, and Kyle Johnson.

Casey Delgado (W, 1-1) earned his first career Double-A victory for the Mets. Delgado lasted six innings and allowed one unearned run on five hits, walking two and striking out two.

Portland scored their lone run in the bottom of the sixth inning on a sac fly by Nate Freiman to score Henry Ramos.

The Sea Dogs open up a new series tomorrow evening at Hadlock Field against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. Aaron Wilkerson (1-1, 1.69) takes the mound tomorrow for the Sea Dogs.
