El Paso Chihuahuas News Release
The Pacific Coast League champion El Paso Chihuahuas fell to the International League champion Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 3-1 in Tuesday's Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game in Memphis, Tenn. It was the IL's fourth victory in the 11-year history of the event.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's Chris Parmelee hit a three-run home run in the top of the first inning with no outs, accounting for all RailRiders runs in the game. El Paso's lone tally came in the top of the sixth when Austin Hedges hit an RBI single to score Manuel Margot.
Chihuahuas' starter Walker Lockett suffered the loss after allowing three runs on seven hits in five innings of work. Relievers Daniel Moskos, Dinelson Lamet and Kyle McGrath pitched scoreless outings covering the final three innings for El Paso.
